UNIPET Launches First Solar-Powered Service Station

Commenting on this historic demonstration of Unipet’s commitment to delivering a green and sustainable future for the nation and supporting the lowering of all stakeholders’ carbon footprints, Unipet CEO Mr Dexter Riley said:
“Trinidad and Tobago needs our own Green New Deal and Unipet has taken leadership. We are taking the risk, investing, and deploying new strategies to ensure that our island economy is sustainable for the next generation. Whether it is infrastructure or transportation, Unipet is committed to green energy. A lead initiative is the transformation of our Brentwood Station to becoming our Brentwood Energy Centre powered by solar energy.
We led the sector providing electric charging to electric vehicles and now we are installing solar panels to satisfy the needs of our customers with clean energy and once again lead the sector.
Globally, the delivery of energy is being transformed at warp speed and as an island economy we have to keep in step with that transformation. Locally the government has signaled major transformation of the sector and Unipet is keeping in sync with that vision by investing in our people and in technology. Our people investment is demonstrated by the creation of a new business unit charged with the responsibility of ensuring that our investment initiatives deliver value for U. This Business Unit is populated by young people who are mentored by successful executives.”
